Our handlers are livestock professionals and Indiana ATC certified to serve alcohol. Our Beer Steer is led by a friendly and knowledgeable server who ensures the happiness and safety of our animal while supporting you and your guests.

Adorable Animal Server

Our mini Highland cow is cleaned, groomed, and dressed for the occasion in flowing garland, woven baskets or wooden crates, and optional twinkle lights and headgear. We will customize her outfit to fit your theme and equip her with a smell- and leak-proof “bum bag” to catch any waste and leave no trace!

Our Service

Certified Handlers

Our professional handlers are state-certified servers with a background in livestock handling and trained to serve and support your event. They arrive with your four-legged server 30 minutes prior to the start of your event to ensure plenty of time to get her dressed, fill her baskets, and start service promptly.

Event Coordination

We help you craft a unique experience that elevates your event, creates memorable photos, and generates a lively atmosphere. We ensure timelines, contracts, and day of details are fulfilled. No stressful management to worry about, we have you covered! We are licensed and insured in the state of Indiana.

Celebrate with Us!

Before you book your Beer Steer:

  1. Secure your venue and date. Confirm with your venue that our furry friend will be welcome to attend your party.

  2. Check your venue’s distance. For the safety and well-being of our animal, we will travel within an hour of our Valparaiso ranch. For an additional travel fee, we will drive up to 1.5 hours.

  3. Secure your funds. Your booking will only be reserved after we have received your 50% deposit.

  4. Fill out the Inquiry Form with your event date and details.

  5. Once your contract is signed and the deposit is paid, you will officially have the cutest server you will ever meet!

FAQ

  • Operational time is when the Beer Steer and Handler begins serving guests. Once they begin serving, there is no break (e.g. for the ceremony) for the time contracted. Our standard operational time is 1 hour. An additional hour may be contracted before the event. We require a 15-minute break between each hour for extended events.

  • Our Beer Steer can serve any canned or bottled beverages (or party favors, individually wrapped snacks, marketable products, programs, etc.) you provide. We do not sell alcohol, but our handlers are certified servers and can serve alcohol. *** We do not supply the beverages for their baskets!***

  • Our party animal wears a “potty bag” that hides sight and smell. This is a discrete black bag that is tucked under her tail to ensure that we “leave no trace” at your gorgeous venue. She can even serve inside with her nifty “bum bag!”

  • We will travel within 1 hour of our Valparaiso, IN ranch. For an additional travel fee, we will travel up to 1.5 hours. Please see the map in the section above to determine if your venue is within our standard or extended travel areas.

  • If there is dangerous weather or an Act of GOD that could put our handlers or animals at risk, we will cancel the service and provide you with a full refund. This type of cancellation is at the full discretion of Tristan Ridge Ranch.

  • While we absolutely LOVE dogs, we ask that any dogs or other animals attending the event be on a leash or in an enclosure. Our cow is familiar with our dog, cats, and other animals at home, but she interacts with them daily. Other pets may react to having a strange creature in their yard, or our animal may think an un-known dog is a threat. Even though she has a very calm demeanor, we just would rather be safe. 

Policies

Payments

Once you have finalized your package and event detail form, we will send you an official contract. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required with the signed contract to hold your reservation. We cannot hold dates until both contract and deposit are received.

Payments can be made via Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Credit Card, or Cash.

Final payment must be received no later than 7 days prior to your event.

Refunds

A non-refundable deposit is required at booking. Any additional payment can be refunded up to 7 days prior to the event. If the event is cancelled by us due to an Act of God (inclement or dangerous weather), your deposit and full payment will be refunded.

If a situation requires us to cancel mid-event, we will prorate the time we were there and send you a refund for the time we missed.

If the event is cancelled by the client within 7 days of the event, the full balance is non-refundable.

Weather

If there is dangerous weather or an Act of God that could put our handlers or animals at risk, we will cancel the service and provide you with a full refund. This type of cancellation is at the full discretion of Tristan Ridge Ranch.

We reserve the right to cancel mid-event due to unsafe situations. If this situation occurs, we will refund you the prorated amount for the time we missed.
